Temperament
The horse's temperament is affected by a number of different factors, some genetic, but above all the temperament is affected by the environment the horse is in. Traveling, competing, changing stables and getting new herd members are factors that can contribute to a stress increase in our horses. Serotonin and melatonin are important hormones, crucial for stress reduction. The production of these hormones is dependent on various nutrients, including L-tryptophan, magnesium and thiamin.
